Oak Ridge Climatological Data
Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Latitude 36 00 05 N, Longitude 84 14 56 W
Elevation 266 m MSL

NOAA/ATDD is the official cooperative climatological data site for Oak Ridge, TN. The Oak Ridge site located at ATDD began data collection in January 1953 and continues to the present. This overview will discuss the data collected at the ATDD site from 1953 through July 2001.

The data are available in PDF report form, and the data have been verified by NCDC. These files are available via anonymous FTP here. The file names begin with the 4-digit year followed by the 2 digit month.

During the time period March 1999 through July 2001, the data are from an automated NWS weather station located about 3 miles away, also in Oak Ridge. The temperature data from this automated site are very comparable to the data that has been collected at the ATDD site. The file names for this data end in "ASOS". However, the precipitation data collected at ATDD can be significantly different from the data collected at the ASOS site. Therefore, if the precipitation data collected at the ATDD site are available for this time period, those files are included. The file names for this data end in "Precip".
